Leading people development provider WELL Training has earned a commendation for its high-quality apprenticeships, receiving a “good” rating in its first-ever full inspection by Ofsted. WELL Training has established a growing reputation for delivering impactful workforce training for top brands both nationally and internationally. Their offerings include a wide range of apprenticeships and bespoke development courses tailored to client needs.

In its July inspection, Ofsted rated WELL Training’s overall effectiveness as “good.” The provider also received “good” ratings in the categories of quality of education, behavior and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and apprenticeships.

Since its launch in 2010, WELL’s experienced coaches have supported over 3,000 learners, providing effective apprenticeships and training in leadership, management coaching, mentoring, and staff development. They have worked across public and private sectors, with recent expansions into Europe, the USA, the Middle East, and Asia.

Levy Expertise

From its headquarters in Wolverhampton, WELL Training offers apprenticeships in business administration, coaching and mentoring, and learning and development, in addition to leadership and management apprenticeships. They also assist employers in accessing apprenticeship levy funds.

Drawing on their experience with clients like Just Eat For Business, Caffè Nero, Cherry Hill, and Edgewell, WELL uses classroom-based learning and video technology to guide cohorts through sessions that support their career progression.

During the Ofsted inspection, WELL was leading a large group of managers through leadership and management apprenticeships for a major retail brand. Ofsted praised the high standard of teaching, noting: “Teachers use a range of methods well to assess learning.”

The report added: “Apprentices enjoy the interactive nature of learning sessions and feel this helps them engage with and remember their learning well. They can clearly recall their learning and identify how it helps them in their day-to-day job roles.”

WELL’s learning coaches are dedicated to ensuring that apprenticeships provide meaningful learning that individuals can quickly apply, supporting their employers and helping their organizations to develop, transform, and grow.

The Ofsted inspection report highlighted: “Apprentices can clearly identify the links between what they are learning and how to apply their new knowledge and skills in the workplace. They value the way tutors tailor their learning to add the context they need to fully understand how to use what they have learned to be better managers and how to get the best from their teams.”

Improving Profitability

Inspectors found that WELL collaborates effectively with employers to develop learning programs that meet the needs of both apprentices and their employers. The report also noted how WELL adapted to support cohorts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
